BBPU Presents: The 2025 Joyous Kwanzaa Celebration

BEAVERTON, OR (November 18, 2025) - The BBPU, a Beaverton-based advocacy organization, announced the third annual Joyous Kwanzaa Celebration, a community event honoring the principles of Kwanzaa with local vendors, food, activities, art, games, and more!

The 2025 Joyous Kwanzaa Celebration will take place on Saturday, December 27th, from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm at THPRD (15707 SW Walker Rd, Beaverton, OR 97006)

The celebration is held on the second day of Kwanzaa, named Kujichagulia, or “Self-Determination”. It is a day honored with activities for strengthening and building community. Attendees have the opportunity to engage in the fun while learning more about the importance of the holiday with their families.

Since the organization's founding, BBPU has hosted community events throughout the Beaverton area, including its annual Soul Strolls and Black to School BBQ. As the organization has grown, with its service now reaching throughout Washington County, BBPU looks to make this year's Joyous Kwanzaa Celebration its biggest and best event to date.

“Watching our events grow year after year has been truly incredible. We’re so grateful for how deeply the community has embraced and supported our work,” said Veronica Jones, Co-Founder and Director of BBPU. “We’re excited to close out the year with our biggest celebration yet as we come together to celebrate Kwanzaa.”

The work BBPU does is made possible by support from generous sponsors, including Schnitzer Cares, Seeding Justice, Metro, Travel Portland, Meyer Memorial Trust, BSSN, Oregon Healthy Authority, The City of Beaverton, Oregon Community Foundation, and the Unitarian Universalist Association.
